AE4All Project Suspended Temporarily
As most people know, Andie and I are working on our new magazine about Ancient Egypt. That's taking all my time so further development here isn't something I can manage at present. I've decided to suspend development here for now at least. The new site will give new writers an opportunity to get noticed which was the purpose of AE4All so really it's that AE4All has taken off in a much bigger way. I'll re-evaluate the future of AE4All when the development of the new site is finished.
In the meantime, I'll continue to add posts to the Old Kingdom section as and when. If anybody else wishes to contribute, that would be welcomed.

Middle Kingdom: The Tomb of Sa-Iset at Dashur
Dr Hawass has a very nice article about this 12th dynasty tomb.
Not Forgotten
I've not forgotten that things like Twitter feeds aren't finished but I'm reviewing whether breaking it down by period works. Something will happen eventually I promise.
Old Kingdom Now Live
Even though there are a lot of rough edges, I went live with the Old Kingdom blog. I've got heaps of tidying up to do. Because of the current structure, that means there separate instances of the template are live (Old Kingdom, Project News and Resources). Clearly the Priority is to work on the Old Kingdom template and I'll only copy back here occasionally. That means in the interim the template here may not be as up to date as the main blog.
In the medium term I'll move the styles out into an external style sheet but I want to be reasonably confident that the colour scheme is stable before I do that. I'll also generalised the javascript for tthe Recent Comments so that that can also be moved to an external file.
Priority One - unless a reader finds a nasty bug - is to tidy up the static resource pages.

Another Late Night
Another very late night - I'm definitely and owl not a lark - but it's worth it. Formatting is coming on a pace. The main layout is now substantially in place and I'm growing accustomed to the present colours. There's some work to do to tidy up some of the spacing, and some white on white text (never good) on the comment submission page, but the main formatting is nearly in place. I've still to add the formatting for static pages to remove the labels and to add a Recent Posts widget that doesn't show on the front page. I also want to get jump tags (aka "read more" working). My guess is that I'll finish the main pass of formatting on Monday - the final tweaks will be made once it's live.
After that I need to turn to getting newsfeeds in place and write the pages for article submission and for following the blogs. At the present rate of progress, I'm probably a week away from going live. That's pretty much on time.

Ongoing progress
What I said yesterday about the goals for today were
The goals for tomorrow then are to finish moving the existing elements around and perhaps start formatting the title a bit.Well. I did move the search bar around and formatting is well underway. I'm still struggling to decide on a color scheme so for now the parameterisation of colors is still in place. That slows blog loading, but only noticeably on a dial up link, so I'll keep it for now.

Favicon
Just before bed, I added the code for the Favicon - it appears in front of the address on the browser. It may change colour yet, but that's just a matter of uploading a new image.
